Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 7
“I am my beloved’s and his desire is toward me” – Song of Solomon 7:10 (KJV).
We are familiar with people in a relationship but have no desire for each other. It is possible for a man to be married to a woman but have desire for another woman. Such could lead to infidelity and possibly result to divorce or separation.
It is so frustrating and heart breaking to see that your spouse or partner have no desire for you. Where you are the only one driving the union or relationship and the other partner shows cold response, it is a sign of weak or no desire for you. It is heart warming to know that our partner, Lord and friend delights so much in us. Jesus is so mindful of his bride…“But one in a certain place testified, saying, what is man, that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man, that thou visitest him?” – Hebrews 2:6 (KJV).
It is interesting to know that God chose to prioritize man and place him on high esteem not only in creation but also in his relationship and dealings with man. God created man in his own image and even when man sinned and wandered away from him, God was so mindful of man that he initiated and later executed the plans of redemption. King David expressed his amazement of God’s strong desire, commitment and pursuit of man, “The Lord hath been mindful of us, He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel, He will bless the house of Aaron” – Psalm 115:12 (KJV).
God has proved his love and strong desire for man in His pursuit, protection, provisions and plans for man. “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” – Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV).
PRAYER: Dear Lord, increase my hunger and desire for you.
