Topic: God is able to make anyone stand
Bible Reading: Psalm 103-104; Romans 14.
Memory Verse : “Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.” Romans 14:4 (KJV)
Several years ago, there was a young man who was so immortal that he could sleep with anyone. In his village, anytime he was on holiday, villagers would not only warn their children against going near him, they kept them in their houses to avoid any slip. Then the young man met the Lord Jesus and accepted Him as his Lord and Saviour and he became completely changed. Though it took time for the villagers to be convinced but when they watched him and saw that he was truly changed, then they allowed their children to get near him. He became an incurable evangelist preaching and living the gospel such that he became the rallying point for people in his village. Nobody could have thought that the man could be changed like that.
Similarly the Bible talks about Apostle Paul who was persecuting the church and was moving from house to house to arrest disciples of Christ until he was arrested by the Lord Himself. The Bible says in Acts 8:3 (KJV), “As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.” He was such a terror that he went to high priest to get authority to travel to Damascus and arrest all disciples of Christ that he may find until the Lord Jesus halted him. In Acts 9:3-4 (KJV), “And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: [4] And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” Those who knew him never thought he could be converted by the Lord.
Ananias was a disciple of the Lord and was told by him to go and lay hands on Saul but he replied that he has heard of the evil Saul had wrecked on the church and even his recent authority to arrest disciples in Damascus! “But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: [16] For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake” Acts 9:15-16 (KJV). This is why you should stop judging any man; just preach the gospel and leave the rest for God.
Always remember the Bible says in Romans 14:4 (KJV), “Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.” He is a sovereign God who does as He pleases!
Prayer point: Father, please make to stand, all those I seek your face for their salvation in Jesus name.
