BIBLE READING: PROVERBS 22, 23, 24; 2 CORINTHIANS 8
“The rich and the poor meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all.” Proverbs 22:2 (KJV)
The rich as well as the poor are created by God. Both are created with equal destiny. God is no respecter of persons, He is a just God. He could not have created some rich and some poor. Everyone was created with different, unique but equal destiny. God created them (the poor and the rich) both but He did not create them so.
The poor man’s poverty is his choice, the rich man’s riches is also his choice. No one was created poor. Life offers everyone opportunities and the outcome of these opportunities is a matter of one’s decisions, choices and actions.
One can end up a sinner while the other ends up a saint. One can end up a Christian while the other ends up a criminal. In the same way, one can end up successful while the other ends up a failure. One can choose to be a beggar while the other ends up a giver.
The choice we make in life determines the outcome of our lives. We make choices and decisions, our choices and decisions determine our actions while our action determines the outcome of our lives.
Everyone created by God in his lifetime have opportunities to receive the gift of eternal life by receiving the new life that Jesus offers. While some grab this opportunities, others evade responsibility by failing to cease these lifetime opportunities.
Those that receive the new life that Jesus offers end up in heaven while those that reject the offer of salvation will end up in hell fire.
The choice is yours.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to make the right choices in life.
