“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full”. – John 16: 23-24(KJV)
Our Saviour and Master made assertions that no other religious founder has done. In our bible reading of today He asserted that whatsoever we ask God the Father in his name shall be answered. He assures us that his name is an authority that produces answer to our prayers. When our prayers are answered it produces joy from within us. We feel belonged and accepted. The name of Jesus guarantee’s us answer to our prayers. The name of Jesus invokes the presence of the Almighty and sets the angel at alert and activated to accomplish the bid of the Almighty. Philippians 2:10(kjv) says “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth”. The name of Jesus Christ is backed by the authority of God. The name of Jesus Christ is the combination and totality of all the powerful names of God. It is one name that carries all the power of all other of God’s powerful name. God introduce himself to Moses as “I AM THAT I AM” in Exodus 3:14 and “JEHOVAH” in Exodus 6:3. In Isaiah 9:6b (KJV) the bible says “……..and his name shall be called WONDERFUL, COUNSELLOR, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, The PRINCE OF PEACE”. All these names are subsumed in the name of Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus Christ is the signet of authority of the Almighty God. The name of Jesus Christ is the name above all names which releases the power of God into operation for our victory and dominion. Satan the fallen archangel cannot stand at the mention of the name Jesus. By the name of Jesus Christ thrones and kingdoms are dethrone and destroyed. We must effectively use the name of Jesus Christ to establish our victory and dominion in life as Christians.
