Memory verse: “But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you” Matthew 12:28 (KJV)
Jesus did so many miracles while on earth that the bible says in John 20:30 (KJV), “And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book.” These miracles were a sign to capture the attention of this dying world that God has sent His Son to bridge the gap between Him and man, yet the Pharisees still accuse Him of casting out devils by Beelzebub the prince of devils (Matthew 12:24).
Any accusation against Jesus miraculous works is a direct accusation against the Spirit of God because it is the Spirit of God that makes all these miracles possible. The Spirit of God is the difference between the life Jesus lived while on earth and the life people were living before He came. It was this same Spirit that created the whole world. Now, at the coming of Jesus He came too to restore order to earth. The Spirit of God is the governor in the kingdom of God.
With His tireless work in Christ, Jesus warns that any false accusation against the Spirit of God will have consequences, “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men” Matthew 12:11 (KJV). Jesus gave this warning because of the comments being made by the Pharisees and all those who didn’t believe in Jesus.
Today, people still comment against the Holy Ghost’s work. Because He has sent us the same Spirit that was at work in Him many miracles are being performed today just as in Jesus’ days. The dead are being brought back to life, the blind receive their sight, the lame work, etc. in fact, Jesus says, “…He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto my Father” John 14:12 (KJV).
Whenever you see miracles take place please give God glory. Yes, there were people in Jesus days who performed miracles outside the Spirit of God but the bible tells us by their fruits you will know them. The Holy Spirit works to glorify Jesus in our lives. Lets continue to give God glory and we will see more miracles like never before.
Prayer: Father I thank You for Your Spirit and all He has done and still doing to magnify Jesus in my life. Help me Lord, to align with the work of the Holy Ghost in my life in Jesus name.
