Topic: HIS PRESENCE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE IN OUR LIVES
Bible Reading: Genesis 39,40; Matthew 10:22-42
“And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian” Genesis 39:2 (KJV).
A lot of people struggle in life today not because of their lack of education, nor inadequate education, nor the environment they found themselves, nor the kind of job they have or don’t have, but because of who was with them. The theme verse says, “The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master” Genesis 39:2 (NIV).
Joseph was a slave. Slaves are like commodities back in the days. Yet he prospered. Other translations say he was a ” successful” man, because God was with Him. His Egytian master was sensitive to note that the LORD was with Joseph because everything he did, prospered. So he handed over the whole house to Him, except his wife. Do you prosper in the things you do?
People who fear and honour God will prosper in life. Joseph feared God and will not sin, not against Portipher, his master, but against a God he does not see (Genesis 39:9). This fear and honour of God was what made Daniel, who was a captive in Babylon, to prosper too. As we grow in the fear of the LORD, we begin to do all that pleases Him and this attract His presence. Jesus said in John 8:29 (NLT), “And the one who sent me is with me – he has not deserted me. For I always do those things that are pleasing to him.”
We have the Spirit of God in us. “As many as are led by the Spirit of God they are the sons of God” Romans 8:14 (KJV ). So God is always with us as long as we have received Christ and purposed in our heart to follow the leading of His Spirit. We are successful already; If God could honour Joseph and Daniel in those days, how much more those of us who are the replicants of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Father, I ask for grace to walk in ever increasing honour and fear of You all the days of my life.
