TOPIC: GOD HATES WASTE
Bible reading: 2 Kings 12-14; John 5:25-47
Memory verse: “When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing may be lost” John 6:12 (KJV)
God is very mindful of His creations; plant, animals and humans all matter a lot to Him. He took notice of the way David shepherded his sheep and saw how great a ruler he would be by just following the sheep and made him so. David became the greatest king the Jews ever had till date.
God has given each and every one of us potentials and gifts and expects us to make good use of them. So many people leave this world without making use of their gifts. No wonder a man of God once said that the graveyard is the wealthiest place in the world, for therein lies the greatest treasure of untapped potentials. What a waste!
In today’s bible reading, Jesus instructed His disciples to gather the fragments that remained after the people had eaten to their fill. This is an indication that God hates waste. Whenever and whatever He provides He expects us to make good use of it. No wonder He says in Isaiah 44:3 (KJV), “For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pore my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessings upon thine offsprings.”
Learn to utilise maximally whatever God gave you from your breath to your body to your mind to your gifts. Then make good use of the salvation God gave you by winning souls to Christ. Remember, He cuts down any tree not producing fruit according to the potentials within it.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the gifts and potentials in me. Help me to use it to the full as ordained by You in the beginning, in jesus name.
