Bible Reading: Genesis 41,42; Matthew 12:1-25
“And Pharoah said unto His servants, Can we find a one as this is, a man in whom the spirit of God is?” Genesis 41:38 (KJV).
It is impossible for man to rule himself successfully without God. Many rulers struggle because they try to. rule without God. The bible says in Jeremiah 10:23 (NLT), “I know, LORD, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course.” All successful Kings or rulers in scriptures were helped by God. He usually comes to man’s aid through the help of His Spirit.
We serve a loving, compassionate and caring God. He desires to see His creations prosper and live well. That’s why He provided everything for both man and animals at creation. In order to save the world from an imminent famine, He appeared to Pharoah in a dream. But the dream left the king looking for answers.
Again, it was a man who carries God’s Spirit, that could interprete the dream. God’s presence is an asset anyday anytime. And anyone who carries His presence will always do well. Joseph told Pharoah, “it is not in me: God shall give Pharoah an answer of peace” Genesis 41:16 (KJV). After the answer, Pharoah said “For as much as God hath shewed thee all these, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art” Genesis 41:39 (KJV).
Joseph ended up as a co-ruler with Pharoah in Egypt. He became the saviour of the whole world as all countries came down to Egypt to buy food from him in Egypt (Genesis 41:57). God is still in the business of caring and loving humans. That’s why He sent Jesus, His only Son, to replicate Himself in man so that we can carry His presence and be successful in life.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the gift of Your Spirit through Your Son, Jesus Christ.
