BIBLE READING: LEVITICUS 21, 22, MATTHEW 28
“And the angel answered and said unto the woman, fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said, come, see the place where the Lord lay” Matthew 28:5-6 (KJV).
The message of the cross is validated by the resurrection. This is the blessed hope of the believers in Christ. “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain” 1 Corinthians 15:14 (KJV). The resurrection of Christ from the death shows the Father’s acceptance of the price of redemption He paid on the cross. It shows that our sins are forgiven, the issue of sin dealt with and righteousness is provided.
The resurrection of Christ shows that the Father is pleased with the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. The resurrection of Christ shows that divine justice has been satisfied and the wrath of God has been pacified and that man can now by faith gain forgiveness, access and acceptance from the Father.
The resurrection of Christ gives the repentant and forgiven believer hope of resurrection some day. “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept” 1 Corinthians 15:20 (KJV).
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for keeping our hope alive through your resurrection.
