TOPIC: SECLUSION IN THE PLACE OF PRAYER
Bible Reading: Leviticus 24-25; Mark 1:23-45
“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” – Mark 1:35 (KJV)
One of the way to access light is through separation unto God. You can widen your latitude, do more and reach more people when you narrow your time and zoom-in on spending time in the presence of God.
Concerning Jesus, the bible says in Mark 1:37 (KJV), “And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.” It is not a coincidence that everyone was looking for Jesus and it’s not just some ‘luck’ that the people wanted Him because He had encountered light and was functioning in it. Though the Son of God, He understood the place of spending time with the Father. Being alone with the Father is the key to progress in the kingdom.
In John 12:24 (KJV), Jesus taught, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” The concept of death is referring to ‘sacrificial living.’ You can’t live like everybody every day and make progress in life helping anyone. Rather than believers developing themselves by spending time with the Father in order to enjoy the better life that the Father has given them in Christ Jesus, they seek alternatives. They change jobs, cities or even careers. Good as those things may be, they aren’t the most important thing because it is light that dispels darkness.
One of the ways to break into new levels in life is through seclusion in the place of prayer. It is in the place of prayer that we receive light and through light you operate with ease against the contrary situations and circumstances of life.
If you are tired of where you are or you are ready to break out of that situation then find the time to wait upon God in His Word and prayers.
Prayer: Father, teach me the art of waiting upon You in the place of prayer because Your presence makes the difference.
