Bible Reading: Isaiah 1:1-31
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” – Isaiah 1:19 (KJV).
There are good things in every land where God has placed us. A land may look so dry and barren but in the same land great men and women emerge. It is possible to be in a city and suffer poverty and deprivation, yet it is possible to be in a local village and enjoy prosperity.
There is no doubt that developed cities offer more opportunities and more flow of money, but prosperity in life is not necessarily a function of ones location. Every land has its own opportunity but every good and perfect gift come from above from the father of light in whom there is no variableness neither shadow of turning (James 1:17). “John answered and said, a man can receive nothing, except it be given him from above” – John 3:27 (KJV).
It is possible for a land to be so fertile and so rich but the people, including the farmers, very poor. The riches of the land is one thing, accessing the wealth and opportunities is yet another thing. To access the wealth and opportunities of a land, hard work, wisdom, skill, and diligence are required. Absence of these virtues could make the riches of a land to elude one.
When God delivered Israel out of the bondage of Egypt, he promised to take them to Canaan, a land flowing with milk and honey. Obedience was required to enter and enjoy the blessings of the land of promise. Out of all the people that left Egypt for the promise land, only Joshua and Caleb, along with the next generation born in the wilderness, were able to enter the land and access the good of the land. The rest of them that left Egypt could not eat of the good of the land as a result of hardness of heart, unbelief and disobedience.
The Christian land is so blessed with so much to enjoy. The blessings are both tangible and intangible. The good of the Christian land includes divine health, healing, long life, riches, and all the blessings of eternal life. Faith and obedience will grant you access to the riches of Christ.
PRAYER: May the eyes of our understanding be enlightened that we may know the unsearchable riches in Christ.
