“The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light” – Romans 13:12(KJV)
This is a true saying. We have had enough of darkness. We have grope enough in the darkness. We are far spent in the night long passed the midnight hour, dawn is fast approaching let us cast off the works of darkness. The bible instructs in Ephesians 5:14(KJV), “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light” The bible in the main quote talks about “cast off the works of darkness” . What are the works of darkness? The works of darkness are dead works. They are unfruitful and unprogressive acts of wickedness. They are the actions of men carried out in the secret in order to truncate people’s destiny. They acts carried out in the secret against fellow human. These are atrocities committed in the secret to hinder and frustrate others. They include but not limited to the following:- Adultery, fornication, occultism, witchcraft, idolatry, hatred, heresies, envying, murder, strife, sedition, drunkenness etc, etc. These and others alike are works of darkness for which the scriptures instructs us to cast of. In Isaiah 52:2(KJV) the scriptures says “Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: Loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion” Here dust represent sin. Therefore it is when you shake away the dust that you can arise and sit down. It is by acquainting yourself with the study of the word that will result in losing thyself from the bonds off thy neck which is the strangling hold of the enemy. This is further buttressed in Obadiah 1:17a (KJV) “But on mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness;” Until our deliverance is accomplished there shall be no holiness. In Hebrews 9:14(KJV) The bible has this to say “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot unto God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” So been present in Mount Zion (Hebrew 12:22) and by the blood of Christ we cast off the works of darkness.
The armour of light include but not limited to the following:- Love, joy, peace, righteousness, meekness, goodness, patience, temperance etc. The armour of light also include as illustrated in Ephesian 6:14-17 the following:- Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Faith, salvation and the Word of God.
My dear reader you are advice to hasten your decision and urgently run to God for your rescue and deliverance. Don’t let the dawn of the day (the coming of Christ) meet you unprepared. There is no repentance in the grave. When the trumpet sounds it would have become too late to repent and seek God. Arise you that is groping in the darkness of occultism and seek the glorious light of the gospel. God has deposited tremendous power at our disposal to completely dislodge and incapacitate the enemy. Don’t allow the defeated devil manipulate you into believing he has anything to offer.
