TOPIC: MEDITATE ON THE WORD
Bible Reading: Nehemiah 7-8; Acts 3
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” – Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
Following what the Lord told Joshua, if you would meditate on the Word as you should, you would be propelled to do what the Word says. Consistently reading and meditating on the Word of God would fill and build up our minds with the thought of scriptures, thereby reminding us constantly on the ways of God and the lifestyle of believers. Our thoughts and will would be sharpen by the Word of God. Paul attested to this in Philippians 2:13 when he sald, “For it is God ‘which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” This is likened to what the Lord said to Joshua in the opening verse. Do you want to be successful, prosperous, and deal wisely in the affairs of life? Do you want to be able to help other people become successful and prosperous? Do you want to have the Christlike mind? Meditate on the Word, day and night; Studying and meditating on the Word early hours of the day and before going to be bed at night will give you an understanding, a motivation, and an inspiration to do what God wants you to do and wisdom to flourish in this life.
Psalm 1:2-3 further tells us the overwhelming blessings this will produce in your life: “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Never dry, never fainting, but ever blessed and unendingly prosperous.
Prayer: Father, transform me from glory to glory through the propelling power of the Word in Jesus Name.
