…Spreading the gospel of Christ

WORD MEDITATION: 18/02/2017

Bible Reading: Psalm 56, Revelation: 11:11-19

“In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do to me” – Psalm 56:10-11(KJV).

It pays to praise the LORD and put your trust in him. When praise and trust combine they produce maximum divine protection. It is our absolute confidence and trust in God that makes us to boast in his name. David, in the above scriptures, is saying that his secret of fearlessness and confidence is in his praise to God and trust in Him. This brings us to the question: whom do you trust?

Some trust in chariot, others trust in their evil powers but not so with David. His absolute trust is in his God. They that put their trust in man or the products of man’s doing shall be disappointed. The secret of always enjoying divine presence and protection is praise. When God’s presence abides with you no one can harm you. That is why David repeated it twice; “I will not fear what flesh can do to me” (verse 4) and “I will not be afraid what man can do to me” (verse 11). All power and might belongs to God and it is him that measures out to men to use for the service of mankind.

When your trust and confidence is in God you will always have very peaceful sleep. “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety” – Psalm 4:8(KJV). This is a statement of great trust and confidence in divine protection. Again in Psalm 91: 2(KJV) we see the resonation of David’s implicit trust in God, “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” When we make continuous and consistent praise to God as a lifestyle, supernatural protection becomes our way of life. We will become a wonder to our world.

It may interest us to know that God also trust in our ability. God trusted and believed that mankind will reciprocate his love demonstrated through Christ to bring many sons into being. He gave his only begotten Son in order to have many sons born into the Kingdom (John 3:16). As Christians, we are the product of divine trust. If you are reading this piece, know that you are among those ordained unto eternal life. Therefore, don’t let the Devil cheat you out of your God ordained status in Christ Jesus. Trust starts with believing. Therefore, believe and accept the Lord Jesu into your life right now and be counted among the sons of God. You will never regret it.

Prayer: Father, thank you for believing in me to receive and accept Jesus into my life as my Lord and Saviour.

Bro. Joel Ezeugo.
