“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God”. – Mark 10:25 KJV
The bible says in Eccl 10:19 that money answereth all things. This is a true statement as there is hardly any major thing that we can do on earth without money. We need money to preach the gospel, we need money to live in a good house, to move from one place to another or even wear clothes. Even to build a church for assembly of God’s children requires money.
Since God created all things, He recognizes the importance of money. However when people begin to chase money at the expense of their soul, then it becomes a problem. This is why the word of God in 1Tim. 6:10 says the love of money is the root of all evils. It is the love of money that drags several to fraudulent practices. It is the love of money that makes people sacrifice their body for wealth. This love for money makes several people to compromise on their professional ethics. A pharmacist that knows that a particular medicine is fake but goes ahead to sell for consumption shows love of money. With such love, there will be propensity to acquire more and obviously grow in sin! For such people, it will be very difficult to obey the word of God. This is why it is said in Mark 10:25 KJV “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God”.
So entering the kingdom of God depends on obedience to the will of God and not the extent of your wealth. However because rich people tend to care so much for their wealth and give less attention to God, it makes it more difficult for them to make heaven.
Prayer: Almighty God, no matter, how rich I am, please don’t let me lose my focus on you in Jesus name.
