Topic: The Lord is ahead of you
Bible Reading: Micah 1-3; Revelation 10.
Memory Verse: “The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.” Micah 2:13 (KJV)
In John 14:6 (KJV), “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” in response to the question by one of his disciples, Thomas, that how can they know the way. Jesus’ response shows that if you need to go on any right way, He is the way you need to take. What does that mean? The Lord is always ahead of you in any situation because He is the WAY!
He says to the Israelites in Micah 2:13 (KJV), “The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.” Jesus is always ahead of his disciples. He knows what you need. Whether you are in a situation that gladdens your heart or a challenging one, it is important you recognise that the Way is ahead of you and so knows what you need to do to weather the storm.
This is why it’s important you praise Him in every situation before you even talk of presenting your challenge. You need to magnify Him by your thanksgiving, praises and worship to show that whatever the situation, the Lord Jesus is above them all and should be acknowledged at all time. Remember what God said to Eli concerning his children behaviour in 1 Samuel 2:30 (KJV), “Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.”
He will not share his glory with anyone and expects you to glorify Him in ALL situations and see Him at work. He says in Isaiah 43:19 (KJV), “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” No matter how wild the path you are currently going through may be, God will make a way for you in Jesus name. However, remember to always glorify Him first in every situation showing your faith in His Lordship over every situation. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Prayer point: Father, thank you for going ahead of me in every area of my life.
