“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law”. – Deuteronomy 29:29 KJV.
God is a Spirit and all that worship him must do so in truth and in Spirit. Our God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the creator of heaven and the earth. He knows everything about the earth. That is why no secret is hidden from him. Deuteronomy 29:29 KJV says “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law”.
Sometimes we do some things and believe nobody knows about them but we forget that God Almighty knows all secrets whether on earth or beneath the earth. In 1 Kings 21, Ahab, the king of Israe,l wanted a plot of land that belonged to Naboth, an ordinary citizen of the country. But Naboth was not ready to sell it on account of it being his inheritance. Ahab felt bad and narrated the details to his wife. His wife drew up a plan to set up false witnesses against Naboth who accused him of blaspheming God knowing that the sanction for blasphemy is death. Upon successful accusation of Naboth, the people stoned him to death and subsequently, Ahab went to claim his land which he had wanted badly.
Jezebel had thought this was a well hatched secret but God saw this and noted it. He further revealed it to Jehu, an army Commander to the new king of Israel (who was the son of Ahab) even after Ahab had died. This is stated in 2 Kings 9:25-26 KJV “Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the Lord laid this burden upon him; Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the Lord ; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the Lord . Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground , according to the word of The Lord”.
So no matter how hidden whatever you do, the creator of heavens and earth knows and will recompense you accordingly. However God is so merciful that he told us that whatever we could have done, all we need is to confess to him and he is ready to forgive us and give us a clean bill. Please take advantage of this today and ask God for mercy for anything untoward that you have done as he is ready to forgive you now.
Prayer: Father, I have come to you realizing nothing is hidden from you. Please have mercy on me on …….. (mention the secret) that I did in the past. Wash me clean and make me whole in Jesus name.
