Bible Reading: Genesis 49,50; Matthew 13:30-58
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV).
Understanding simply means “to comprehend.” When you begin to comprehend things it puts an end to frustrations all around you. Spiritual understanding does much more. Since the spiritual controls the physical, Spiritual understanding takes you to a higher realm where you begin to comprehend the happenings all around you physically via your spiritual connection.
Jesus always taught the people with illustrations and parables, but gives his disciples further explanations on these parables. Reason? In the Kingdom nothing is yours until you personally discover it yourself. For instance, to find God, you must seek Him with all your heart. To understand these parable and the secrets behind them, you must be a follower who have paid the price. Peter said, we have left all and followed you (Luke 18:28).
Our interest in God will determine the level of information HE will give us. Jesus said the knowledge of the secret of the Kingdom has been given unto you (Matthew 13:11) because you have paid the price; you left your home, jobs, given up some money, left houses, etc, for the kingdom’s sake. God never reveals the depth of HIS principles to people who love free things, who never make sacrifices for the kingdom. Your sacrifices, more often than not, shows where your heart lies (Matthew 13:44).
Remember, you initiate what you get from God by the questions from your heart on matters of the kingdom. The disciples always come back to ask him questions whenever the crowd has dispersed. He gladly explains and expantiate on the illustrations earlier given bcause of the interest they showed simply by asking questions.
Ask God questions today as HE commanded us in Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV), “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” He has not changed. The same way Jesus gave answers to those who asked questions then, He is still doing same now. He is still the same (Hebrews 13:8)
