Bible Reading: Leviticus 26 & 27; Mark 2.
“And they come unto him bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay” – Mark 2:3-4 (KJV).
People including Christians always find reasons and excuses for none performance. One thing or the other stops them. An obstacle or wall blocked them from achieving their goals. While some of our excuses may be legitimate, we can admit that if we persist and refuse to give up or to give in to the challenges, we will reach our goals or achieve the desired results. Most times, people turn back or give up at the slightest challenge or obstacle. Our life’s challenges could become stepping stones to greater heights. Hear what Jesus says “Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believer, all things are possible to him that believeth” – Mark 9:23 (KJV).
Faith makes a way where there seems to be no way. A man of faith does not take no for an answer, except God says so. No can turn to yes, if we can persist. Closed door can open if we press on. We can find a way through the puzzle or through the obstacle if we can dare to believe God. Faith can turn seemingly disadvantaged situation to our advantage. Four friends carried a man on his bed to see Jesus. By the time they arrived, the hall was filled to the brim. Even the door was blocked by the crowd. Some people must have met same situation and turned back concluding there was no way out but these four men believed there could be a way. Their positive mind-set opened door for an idea. It wasn’t an easy one but they dared to act. They did not consider the possibility of falling from the roof; neither did they consider the cost of breaking or putting back the roof. Again, they did not think of the possibility of a negative reaction from Jesus. Their faith saw them through all the obstacles. They succeeded in their mission because they dared to act by faith. Their faith dismantled every barrier and gave them outstanding testimony. The man got his miracle and went home before those that blocked the entrance door.
Fear will try to stop us. What happens if we fail? Supposing we fail to succeed? The challenges were obvious but faith transcended the obstacles to make a way in a seemingly impossible situation. You can put your faith to work today and see it produce great testimony for you.
Prayer: Lord, help me to activate my faith.
