TOPIC: SUCCESS THROUGH GOD’S WORD
Bible Reading: Joshua 1-3; Luke 1:57-80
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night; that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
The above scripture gives us a secret on how to prosper by the word as God’s children. God’s word must never depart out of our mouth. That means we must continuously confess and boldly declare His word every time – day and night. However, declaring God’s word to yield the desired result must be meditated upon to receive the rhema of the word. It is the meditated word that produces result because that is the word believed in upon which faith is exercised. God’s word is not a novel and it is not only written but it is living. When meditated upon the written word becomes the revealed word. This is well illustrated in Psalm 39:3 (KJV) “My heart was hot within me: while I was musing the fire burned: then I spake with my tongue.” When we saturate our heart with the word of God and meditate (ponder) on them, when we declare them it carries tremendous power because it is backed by God for manifestation.
Secondly, for the word to be effective in creating our desired result it must not only be declared and meditated upon but must be observed, i.e. it must become your lifestyle. When you begin to live out the word of God through observation and practical living, you begin to manifest it. The word of God contains the covenant terms and conditions for prosperity and success. Prosperity and wealth are purely covenant issues. We cannot stand on prayer to receive wealth and prosperity; we must exercise the covenant terms which is the word of God.
Some of the covenant conditions for wealth are well specified in scriptures. “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall also reap bountifully. Every man according as he proposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 (KJV). The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The man that fears the LORD is the one that keeps his commandment and for such a man the scriptures says, “Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever, unto the upright there ariseth light in darkness: he is gracious and full of compassion, and righteous” Psalm 112:3-4 (KJV). The scriptures further revealed the reasons for the above blessings, “He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth forever; his horn shall be exalted with honour” Psalm 112:9 (KJV).
These are the component of good success that is stated in our scriptures of today which is aptly restated by Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 9:8(KJV), “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” God’s word are forever established, they cannot fail.
I employ you, my dear reader, to stay with God for your success and advancement in life. God’s promise to us is good success and prosperity, nothing less.
Prayer: Father give me the grace to declare, meditate and observe your word for my success in life.
