Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 10, 11, 12; John 6:49-61
“Now these are they that came to David at Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helper of the war” – 1 Chronicles 12:1 (KJV).
Everyone in life needs help to attain certain feat. No one climbs the ladder of success without fighting war, and this war, most times, needs the assistance of willing and able hands to win. Quite a number of men have drowned in the ocean of trouble as a result of constant war over which they did not receive help. Life is war!
David faced a lot of attacks in life especially from Saul when it was clear that God has rejected him by reason of disobedience. Saul was trailing closely after his life with a determined attempt to eliminate him (1 Samuel 20:28-34). With the battle line drawn, David left his father’s house to protect his life. Some have lost their lives because they fail to realise the difference between the time to wait and confront, and the time to run. Even Jesus Christ, the Master understood this and he hid himself from the crowd at a point (John 8:59). The action of Jesus aptly explains what David did, “Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish…” – 1 Chronicles 15:1 (KJV).
The names of those who helped David are listed verses in 1 Chronicles 12: 3-7, 9-14. The helpers that God is sending your way are fully armed with all the needed arms to give the essential assistance to attain God-designed position for you in life.
Prayer Point: God send help to me to fight the battle of my life in Jesus name.
