BIBLE READING: 1 CHRONICLES 1-2, JOHN 7: 32-53
Memory verse: “The officers answered, Never man spake like this man”. John 7:46 (KJV)
Our Lord Jesus while on earth lived an exemplary and very impactful life. He was so unique and left indelible marks everywhere He went. Today, many years after, the world is yet to recover from the impact of His first coming. His teachings were so impactful that a great crowd always followed Him just to hear hitm teach. He held many spellbound with the wisdom coming from His mouth, captivated many others with the miracles He did. Indeed there is no man like Jesus.
We can learn a few things from this. As true disciples of the Master, we must learn of Him. “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls”. Learning of Him means studying His life and growing to being like Him in all things. One of the areas we need to learn is the application of wisdom when we speak. Certain times the world comes to us with circumstances that if we are not wise, we will be ensnared. Severally, the people came to Jesus with one question or the other about the law and Jesus will always answer them so well that they began to marvel.
As evangelists, our words should be laced with wisdom and power to be able to get the attention of the world. Jesus is our role model, pattern, way of life and all we have. When we become like him, we will command the same kind of influence He had. The world is not looking for ordinary people but exceptional people who can influence their world. The world stands still for great men of impact especially the ones whose level of impact has been impossible to recreate. That is the desire of the Master for us, His disciples. When the soldiers were sent to arrest Jesus, they ended up being his converts. Today we are called to influence lives positively in our world. Let men experience the Jesus pattern in us and testify that we are of a special kingdom breed.
Prayer: Lord, help me to become like you in every area of my life. Help me to impact my world for you.
