…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Topic: Serve God heartfully

Bible Reading: Psalm 116-118; 1 Corinthians 2.

Memory Verse: ”But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)

A carpenter learnt about Christ and decided to worship him daily. So, every morning, on his way to work, he would branch a nearby church and greet Christ and tell him he was going to work for that day. Thereafter, he would leave for his daily activity. He did this religiously and he did not bother to see the church’s pastor neither did he try to copy anyone on how to serve God. But it was apparent he believed God was in the church and ensured he expressed his appreciation and greetings to Him every morning.

Then one day he went to work as usual and he fell down from the top of the building he was working on. They carried him to the hospital and he was seriously wounded. But something happened, one night, while he was on the bed, a visitor came to see him and greeted him the way he used to greet Christ in the church every morning and he called himself his friend! In the morning when the medical personnel came to check the man who could not move on the bed the previous night, they saw him miraculously fully recovered! Surprised, they asked him what happened overnight to him and he narrated his experience.

Just as the Lord visited that man in the hospital to meet him at the point of his need, he will visit you too as long as you are his child and you serve him diligently. You don’t have to serve him following a particular pattern , all you need is a sincere heart, fellowshipping with the Lord Jesus regularly in faith and He will become real to you at the point of your need. He says in Psalm 34:8 (KJV), “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

You don’t have to feel Him or hear Him but have faith in Him and the Spirit of God will minister to you at the appropriate time. Note that as in 1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV), “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” But ensure you develop a personal relationship with Him by worshipping Him, praying to Him and studying the Bible and living a life of obedience to His word, He will show up for you at every point of need.

Prayer point:
Father please give me the grace to obey You to the end in Jesus name.
