BIBLE READING : Ecclesiastes 4; 5; 6; 2 Corinthians 12
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
God’s grace comes in different forms and in different ways depending on the divine intention. There is the grace to escape storm and the grace to go through storm. Apostle Paul prayed to God to take away the thorn in his flesh but God’s answer was not that of exemption or evasion but grace to go through the storm. Paul would of necessity have to go through the storm. God has the power to make Paul to avoid the storm but he chose to allow him go through the unpalatable storm. Some trials and challenges we face are part of the process and instrument of our making. Storms help to drive the roots of trees deeper. Such storms may not be palatable but they are necessary. They will ultimately work for our good.
Romans 8:28 (KJV). For trials and challenges that are part of God’s plan for us, he will give us sufficient grace to go through. Notice that when Jesus prayed that the cup of suffering should pass over him, God enabled him to submit to divine purpose of going through the ridicule and pain of the cross because such was necessary for redemption of mankind. God’s grace will always be there in our times of need.
Prayer : Thank you Lord for your grace is sufficient for my challenges
