“Though thy beginning was small, yet thy later end should greatly increase” – Job 8:7 (KJV).
Most great things we see today began very small as a seed. Some people are afraid of beginning small not knowing that most great things actually began small. Some are ashamed of beginning small; they feel people will ridicule them for stooping so low. It could be a job with meager salary, or starting business with small capital. It could be serving as a cleaner in church or as a pastor in training. Many people want to begin big. The fact that one began big is no guarantee that one will succeed or do better than the one that began small.
There is a price tag for every greatness in life. Today is a seed for tomorrow. What one is prepared to do today will determine what tomorrow will be. Our tomorrow is decided by us in partnership with God. While we cannot decide it apart from God, it must be noted that God will not decide it without involving us because He will not invade our lives. There is the God factor as well as the human factor in the issue of human destiny. God desires and plans for every of his children a great and successful destiny but whether we attain it or not is up to us.
Failure to pay the price for success, for prosperity, for happiness, for greatness or for fulfillment will leave one with a future of regret. The price could be diligence, discipline, hard work, self-denial or sacrifice. Whatever a man sows, that also he will reap (Gal 6:7)
PRAYER: Lord, help me to pay the price for greatness.
