…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Psalm 28, 1 John 5: 8-14

“Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up” – Psalm 28:5(KJV)

The above scriptures is referring to a set of people who are well described in verse 3 as the wicked and workers of iniquity. These are persons who speaks peace to their  neighbour while mischief is in their heart. They are double faced in their dealing. These kind of people are everywhere, mischievously operating clandestinely while plotting evil against their neighbour. They appear in the open as very friendly and concerned but are responsible for the misfortune of their neighbour. They do not regard the mighty works of God neither do they fear retribution from the Almighty. They believe that God does not act quickly, so when they are slightly offended they go for a kill. They tend to easily forget that their breathe was not purchased and can be remove anytime by God. They also forgot that the sun, the rain and all that keeps them alive is freely given by God, instead they work and act purely by their evil mind. They are very hardened at heart but look innocuous in the open. Bearing in mind their wickedness the Psalmist prayed in verse 4, “Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.” God has outlined the punishment of the wicked. The question is who is the wicked?

The wicked, as defined in this verse of scripture, is the person who does not regard the works of the LORD and lacks the fear of God. He is that person who is a worker of iniquity, who imagine and execute mischief in his heart against his neighbour.  He is the person who works behind the scene to do evil against his fellow man. Anyone who is not a child of God is wicked as the bible says: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”  -Jeremiah 17:9(KJV). This is the unregenerated heart that is devoid of salvation.  The bible says, “God judgeth the righteous,  and God is angry with the wicked every day” – Psalm 7:11(KJV). What are the many evils of the wicked God is angry with? He dwells in iniquity and conceive mischief, he invents falsehood. God has reserved an instrument of death against the wicked.

That uncle of yours that seems to be pleased with you openly, but is responsible for you and your siblings misfortune, that witch that says over her dead body before you prosper, that wicked man of your household that has vowed that no woman in your family will marry, hear what God has for them, “He”(God) hath also prepared for him the instrument of death:..”  If the wickedness of the wicked must come to an end in your life then you must embrace the Almighty God through His Son Jesus Christ. It is Him that specializes on how to terminate the wickedness of the wicked. You can then say like the Psalmist “My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

IN THIS AGE OF UNIMAGINABLE WICKEDNESS YOUR ONLY ESCAPE ROUTE IS CHRIST JESUS.

THE NAME OF THE LORD IS A STRONG TOWER: THE RIGHTEOUS RUNNETH INTO IT, AND IS SAFE.

Prayer: Father protect me from the darts of the wicked and empower me for dominion and victory in Jesus name.
