Memory verse: “Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?” Matthew 15:12 (KJV)
When Jesus was on earth He did all He did as directed by His Father through the Spirit. He was full of the Holy Ghost and power, that’s why His message convicts the heart of many till today. He spoke one time and people stayed there for days listening to Him, being held down by the power.
While some were being convicted in the heart others were busy growing in anger over His messages because of the kind of heart they have built. Because He was being led by the Spirit, He teaches not minding who’s offended or not, leaving us an example to follow. But first are you being led by Spirit in your teachings?
If Jesus had looked at the faces or countenances of the Pharisees when teaching He would not have touched many people because the Pharisees were always there to criticize and dissuade the people from listening to Him. If Jesus had looked at their faces or countenance Nicodemus would not have become a changed person. Speak as directed by the Spirit of God.
When Paul was invited to preach by Sergius Paulus in Acts 13, Elymas the sorcerer tried to stop him. The aim of Elymas, like the Pharisees, is to stop people from being saved. Never you get offended when you are opposed in the course of your preaching or sharing the good news. Make sure you share the message you brought as led by the Spirit before you leave that place. Someone in that place, whom you may not know or see, like Nichodemus, is being worked on by God.
