Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 13,14,15; John 7:1-27
“And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?” John 7:15 (KJV)
The Holy Spirit indwelling a man makes him a different man entirely as he has the capacity to receive directly from God. Men of old did mighty works whenever the same Spirit came upon them. Samson could not be stopped by thousands of enemy armies. The Spirit of God came upon David after he was anointed and was with him till his death. No wonder he did not lose any battle during his lifetime.
The same Spirit was the force behind Jesus mighty works on earth. John 3:34 (NLT), “For He is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit.” He speaks God’s words by the Spirit of God. If you speak words as directed by the Spirit of God you will be a wonder to many. Through His mighty words He gave us words of life that is still blessing many till today. This should not come as a surprise because the Spirit of God, who was present and involved in creation, knows exactly what the world needs.
Our Lord Jesus said in John 17:18 (Goodnews), “I sent them into the world as you sent me into the world.” Remember God has committed all things into His hands, so He sent us full of the Spirit just as the Father sent Him. No wonder His disciples caused many to wonder in Acts 4:13 (KJV), “The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.” Men who were learned were amazed at the words coming out of these unlearned disciples of Jesus.
As Christians we are expected to speak God’s word at all times. We are ambassadors of heaven on earth, and whatever is heavenly must reflect the heavens in full. Jesus manifested the heavenlies here on earth, we too have been sent forth to do same in our words and deeds. Remember, the same Spirit who made this possible has been shed abroad for us all (Romans 5:5).
Prayer: Father, thank You for the grace to speak your word at all times.
