BIBLE READING : Ecclesiastes 7,8,9; 2 Corinthians 13
” For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth“ 2 Corinthians 13:8a (KJV)
Most time people claim they are saying nothing but the truth only to find out that what they said was everything but the truth. Facts are not always the truth. One can deny, disbelieve, doubt or reject the truth but none of these positions is strong enough to change the truth. Ultimately, the truth must prevail. There is nothing anyone can do that can weaken the truth. The truth is powerful, it will always fight its way.
The truth is God’s idea, God’s word. Fighting, rejecting or denying the truth does not change it. “Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life”. Observe that he didn’t just say that he knows the truth, he said he is the truth. The Scribes, the Pharisees and the Sadducees tried severally to undo him but to no avail. They accused, judged, condemned, crucified and buried him but he rose again the third day. Everything they did against him all worked for his good, helping him to accomplish his redemptive mission. He rose triumphantly with all powers in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth given to him.
The truth will always triumph over lies just like the light will always overcome darkness. All who embrace the truth will be ridiculed, persecuted and may even be killed but ultimately the truth will prevail in their eternal victory in Christ because one can do nothing against the truth but for the truth.
Prayer: Thank you Jesus for enabling me to know the truth.
