Bible Reading: Micah 4, 5; Revelation 12.
Memory Verse: “And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.” Micah 5:15 (KJV)
In south west Nigeria, where I come from, names have deep meanings and they tend to tell stories of birth or family circumstance. Thus a name like Biodun implies someone born during a festive period. Similarly, they give names to different people as welll as God Almighty. One of the names given to God is “Ogbeninijakeruobaonija.” This means “A defence that makes the defended fearful after seeing how his adversary has been decimated!” So it is always better to leave your adversaries to God who knows how to deal with everyone because we are his creation. No wonder, the Bible says in Romans 12:19 (KJV), “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” Has anyone offended you, it is better not to take vengeance into your hands but to handover such people to God.
A story is told of a woman who was rich but also very mean to her workforce. She owed salaries of several months to her personal driver on account that he drove her through roads with potholes when he could have avoided such areas. She then decided that she would not pay the man until, the pain occassioned by those potholes in her body ceased! Driven to extreme, the driver ceased her lap top and asked her to pay him before he would release the computer. The lady then organized his arrest and wound stories round him such that he was jailed!
While in jail, the driver thought of everything and the pain being inflicted on him and he handed over the woman to God for judgment since he had no one to defend him. Some years later, everything went awry for the woman and her properties were sold and she became a pauper, upon investigation from a prophet of God, she was told that she had offended her former driver who handed her over to God and unless she got the driver to forgive her, the situation would get worse!
If God can fight for others, you can imagine what He can do to those who offend him directly. And those who sin against him are to be punished by him. In fact he promised to deal with them in ways never heard of before. Hear him in Micah 5:15 (KJV), “And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.” Fortunately, God has given you the opportunity of repentance if you are not pleasing him in your ways. Please repent today and avoid the wrath of God.
Action Point:
Please examine your ways in anyway you are displeasing God and repent urgently.
