“Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin–; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.“ – Exodus 32:32 KJV
It is better to give than receive as the hand of the giver is always on top. And God has given everyone of us something that others do not have for a purpose. That is to meet their needs. The needs may not always be physical. Sometimes it may be spiritual. This is why it is important for us to pray regularly not only for ourselves but also for others.
If there is any member of your family, your colleague at work, your friend or neighbour that is going through some challenges, you should commit it into prayer seeking the help of God For such a person. Exodus 32:32 KJV “Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin–; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.”
Moses was the leader of the Israelites and he saw that God was angry with them for their sin. Instead of capitalizing on this, he began to intercede for them. He appealed to God for mercy reminding Him of his promises to the ancestors of the people. This is a great example for us to follow. We should always plead the cause of others and seek for mercy for our followers rather than castigating them for their sins. Moses was ready to lay down his life for the Israelites in spite of the challenges they had placed on him. You can imagine what the world would look like if all our leaders can take this posture.
The interesting part is that we can start and influence our circle. From there the circle would expand and we would be able to win the world for Christ by our action and not mere words!
Prayer: Father, help me to be a good example of your child even as I intercede regularly for others in prayers in Jesus name.
