“But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side and forthwith came there out blood and water” – John 19:34
His suffering was much, but to show such a level of animosity, cruelty and hatred by piercing his side with a spear even after he has given up the ghost is unthinkable and unimaginable. All his suffering turned out to be our deliverance. For our offence He was subjected to torture beyond human comprehension. Even at death they still pierced him and the scriptures has this to say in Zech. 13:1(KJV) In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of Daivd and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and uncleanness” From him flowed the fountain of blood for the remission of sin and the fountain of water for cleansing from filthiness and idolatry. “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sin”- Matt. 26:28(KJV). “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your Idols” – Ezekiel 36: 25(KJV). He started and consummated our salvation. Even at death he provided solution for our complete deliverance. We have no excuse whatsoever if after our sojourn on earth we miss heaven. It will be entirely our fault. It is my prayer that everyone reading this piece will maximize the liberty and benefits that redemption offers.
