Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles. 16, 17, 18; John 7:28-53
“I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.” Psalm 77:11-12 (KJV)
God has never left us without witness and what to hold on to in every generation. And the people of old did not waste this golden opportunity which the LORD of the universe extended to them. Whenever a major feat was given to them by the LORD, they were quick to document them giving them the privilege of reverting to it when the need arises. The pages of the Bible are filled with the innumerable works of God experienced by the people of old and they held fast to them both for them and for posterity sake.
David, an experienced warrior and great king in the land of Israel, witnessed many of the works of God which propelled him to document a lot of them for our benefit in this generation. Many of the insights he shared are worthy of being committed to our memory. The emphatic statement of David was explicitly captured: “Keep in mind the great work which he has done; his wonders, and the decisions of his mouth; O you seed of Israel his servant, you children of Jacob, his loved ones” –1 Chronicles 16:12-13 (Bible in Basic English)
Recall that David put this down when he successfully brought back the ark of the Lord and when he had been able to reset the order of bringing the ark back and this was honoured by God. He considered this and many other great works which must never be allowed to slip off our minds. Has God done any work through your feeble hands which God strengthened for His glory? Do not let it slip off your hand. Rather, meditate on it and let it motivate you for greater assignment in the kingdom of God. Hold fast to all His works and wonders all through your journey on earth.
Prayer: I hold fast to your wonders as I continue my journey here on earth in Jesus’ name.
