…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 10, 11, 12; Galatians 1

“But they had heard only, that he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed” – Galatians 1:23 (KJV).

My experience in life in the few years I have lived as a Christian and the records of the bible show that there is no person, however ungodly or hardened to the gospel, that is a write-off. We so often and so quickly give up on some people perceiving them as enemies of the cross. Most times, we have legitimate reasons to give up on some people and see them as lost forever but no matter how cogent or legitimate our reasons might seem, we should not give up on anyone God has not given up on. The worst sinner can be transformed to become the best of saints.

Examples abound in the bible of the power and efficacy of the gospel to change lives. The woman (Mary) who was possessed with seven demons became a partner in Jesus’ ministry. Likewise the woman of Samaria with a bad record of her past became an evangelist, an instrument for the harvest of Samaria. The harlot, Rahab, became an instrument for the deliverance of the spies and the defeat of Jericho when she, by faith, identified with the God of Israel.

Paul, the apostle, described himself as the chiefest sinner but by the grace of God, he became the chiefest apostle of his time with mind-blowing revelations and insight into the plans and purposes of God. Never give up on yourself or on any, for God can turn things around and he can save and transform even the worst of sinner.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for your amazing grace and the efficacy of the gospel.

Rev. Vincent Diolu
