BIBLE READING: ECCLESIASTES 10, 11, 12; GALATIANS 1
“But they had heard only, that he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed” Galatians 1:23 (KJV)
The gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation. The message of the gospel is so powerful that it can change any life. Terrorists, idol priests and ocultic people can be changed by the gospel. This is the reason why we must not give up on anybody. How often we condemn people and conclude that they are candidates of hell because of their life style. God never gives up on anybody because anyone that opens up to receive the gospel can be transformed from any point. The gospel is so powerful that it can change the worst sinner. If Saul can become a preacher of the gospel then there is hope for everybody.
The apostles found it hard to believe that Paul’s repentance was genuine, they thought that it was one of those tricks to trap them in other to arrest or kill them.
But it was for real. Saul, the terrorist, has had an encounter with Christ and that has caused a total turn around in his life.
To honestly promote a faith that one once fought and destroyed is simply a great transformation. He not only preached and proclaimed the faith but he did that with such passion and zeal that he was prepared to die for the same faith. This is simply amazing, but that’s what the gospel can do.“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” Romans 1:16 (KJV).
