Topic: God has his way in storms

Bible Reading: Nahum 1-3; Revelation 13.

Memory Verse: “The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.” Nahum 1:3 (KJV)

A creation of God, the eagle, “rides” storms. This allows the eagle to conserve energy and rise above the turbulent weather, soaring to a calm space above the storm clouds where it can glide more efficiently. While other birds seek for shelter from storms, the eagle uses it to its advantage. The creator who knows everything about an eagle as well as all storms certainly knows the way out of any storm and also how to ride on them.

So no matter your difficulty and its severity, the one who creates you knows the way out of such challenges. In 2 Chronicles 20; king Jehoshaphat was faced by three nations of strong army and he feared because he did not have the capacity to face them. But he knew a way out, which is to seek the face of God and ask for help from the helper of the helpless and that’s what he did. And God, who is ever present in times of need, spoke to Jahaziel in the midst of the congreagation that king Jehoshaphat  should not be afraid of the size of his enemies because the battle is for God and the army of Judah will not need to fight!  And subsequently, God made sure the enemies fought and destroyed themselves and Jehoshaphat and his people got so much spoils of war without having to fight!

What challenge are you facing? The word of God to you is to fear not and seek His face and He will answer you. However, you need to examine yourself that you are also not wicked in your ways so that you do not become the enemy of God! If you are involved in any sin, it’s important you repent, seek the face of God and ensure you study His word regularly and obey Him. Once you are in good standing with God, He will come to your aid and still the storm in your life. Remember that “The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.” Nahum 1:3 (KJV)

Please note that His ways are not our ways. Your concern should be the resolution of your challenge and not the way He will choose to resolve it. Note that in the case of Jehoshaphat, while he was expecting to fight the battle, God chose to do it Himself directly and did not involve him. So, present your case and let Him choose the way He will resolve the challenge.

Action point: Examine yourself that you are in good standing with God and then present your case to Him.
