Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 16, 17 & 18. Luke 17:20-37.
“Remember Lot’s wife.” – Luke 17:32 (KJV)
God decided to destroy the land of Sodom because their sins had become so much and they were not ready to repent. He therefore sent two angels to the land and they asked Lot, his wife and two daughters to quickly leave the land so that they would not be destroyed with other residents of the city. They further gave Lot and his family stern instruction not to look back as they were escaping. (Gen 19: 15-17). However, Lot’s wife disobeyed the instruction of the angels and she looked back and became a pillar of salt. ( Gen 19:26). So she has become a symbol of disobedience.
That judgement was instant, but God is patient with us now and is giving us grace to repent of the sin of disobedience and follow him. Hence, every form of disobedience to the word of God will be judged and except you repent before the judgment day, there will be sanctions! Everyone needs to examine his own area of disobedience and make amends before it is too late. Is it cheating, fornication/ adultery, stealing, idolatry, or lying? Consider the word of God in Luke 17:32 (KJV), “Remember Lot’s wife.”
Several years ago, a man of God was preaching in a church service and God revealed to him there was an armed robber in the church and he needed to repent and give his life to Christ that day so that he would not perish. The man did not yield to the call and after the service, he tried to cross a road close to the church and was knocked down by a car and he died. Someone gave the testimony after but the armed robber ended up his life in hell though God showed him so much mercy by still calling him on his last day, but he refused to yield!

( Luke 17:29-30). I pray that you shall be found without blemish, spot or wrinkle on the day that Jesus shall be revealed to you.
