BIBLE READING : Song 1; 2; 3; Galatians 2
“For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor” Galatians 2:18 (KJV).
The life of a believer in Christ is meant to be a consistent life, the lifestyle and attitude should be consistent with the profession. Jesus was a practical example of consistency. “The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach“ Acts 1:1 (KJV). His doings was consistent with his teachings, unlike the Phariseses who say one thing and do the opposite. The Pharisaic life was a hypocritical life full of inconsistencies. Jesus was not only a teacher but also a doer of the word. Where a believer says one thing but lives a life that contradicts what he professes, he lacks credibility. That kind of contradiction tends to destroy one’s profession of faith, it also hinders one’s testimony and influence in the community.
As believers, our life should support and confirm our belief. Going back to practice the ungodly lifestyle we once condemn will destroy our testimony and influence in the community. When we live a life consistent with our profession of faith, we strengthen our influence in the community making it possible for the gospel to affect lives. On the contrary, an inconsistent life weakens the influence and impact of one’s faith.
Prayer: I receive the grace to live a life consistent with my Christian faith in Jesus name
