Bible Reading: Jeremiah 1,2; 1Timothy 3
“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory” 1 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
The coming of Christ for the redemption or rather the entrance of God physically into the world for the salvation of humanity was not spontaneous but a well-articulated divine project orchestrated by well documented prophecies from Genesis to Malachi. In Genesis 3:15 (KJV) God said to the serpent, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” The serpent whose head will be bruised is Satan, the architect of sin, and the seed of the woman that shall bruise Satan’s head and His heel be bruised is Christ.
Right from the fall of man God spoke prophetically on the coming of Christ. In Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) the prophetic identity of the messiah was clearly stated, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” From the names stated by the prophet the divinity personality was clear and never in doubt. Talking about His human identity and the spiritual dimension of His operation, the prophet Isaiah said in Isaiah 11: 1-2 (KJV), “And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom, and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.” In Psalm 2:7 (KJV) we see Jesus Christ speaking in prophecy of His begotten by God, “I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.”
Further declaring His divine and human identity the bible said in John 1:1,14 (KJV), “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we behold his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” God’s Word by which He created all things incarnated in the flesh and dwelt among men. Though He carried human flesh the fullness of Godhead resides in Him. Colossians 2.9 (KJV), “For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” He had the Seven dimension of the Spirit operating in Him. The bible testify that He had the Spirit without measure (John 3:34) and was full of Holy Ghost (Luke 4:1). Going through the length and breadth of the scriptures the 100% God and 100%-man identity of Jesus Christ are clearly stated without controversy. Conclusively there is no controversy as to the identity of Christ, His manifestation in the flesh and accomplishment of His mission of redemption for humanity and bodily ascension to heaven.
My dear reader, let it be known and clear to you that God himself came in the flesh, dwelt among us and presented us with redemption that only Him can offer through His death in order to win you back from the devil. Remember, on the day of judgement you are not going to be judged for sin but what you did with Christ, the ransom God gave to you.
Prayer: Father, help me to make living a holy life my lifestyle.
