…Spreading the gospel of Christ

WORD MEDITATION: 23/12/2019

Bible Reading: Nahum 1,2,3, Revelation. 14

“The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.” – Nahum 1:7 (KJVS)

The three Hebrew boys, Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego were consistent in their faith in God such that when they were faced with death in a burning furnace, they maintained their belief in God. They were ready to die on the day of their trouble instead of compromising their faith ( Daniel 3:12-19). This shows that they knew what the bible says in Nahum 1:7 (KJVS), “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”

Thus, in their case, God went inside the furnace and removed the burning power of the furnace such that the three Hebrew boys were not burnt in any way. That miracle of God led to several people giving their lives to Christ as the king thereafter directed them to worship only the God of Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego (Daniel 3:26-29).

What type of challenge are you facing? What kind of trouble have people put you in? Just hold unto the Lord Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith because he is good and knows those that trust in him. He says in Psalm 50:15 (KJVS), “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” The promise is that he will deliver you; but there is no definite time. He may do it earlier or later but in any case it will be at the best time since he knows all things. So anyone who calls on God in times of trouble must trust that he will answer at the best time which may or may not be at the anticipated time. So whatever your situation, just trust him, he will provide solution at the best time.

However, your faith in Him should be unwavering, noting that he is omnipotent. There is nothing he cannot do. So it does not matter how long the situation has been lingering on, he can change it within a second because he is not limited by anything.

Action Point:
Father, still the storm (mention the issues) raging in my life in Jesus name.
