Bible Reading: Habakkuk 1-3; Revelation 14.
Memory Verse: “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV)
Vision is defined as the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom. It is also a revelation from God. Sometimes God reveals future events to people for their action. Thus in Daniel 2:1; God revealed a dream of future events to king Nebuchadnezzar. Though he forgot, Daniel was able to reveal both the dream and interpretation to him. On a different occasion in Daniel 4:5-26, the king had a dream of another future event. Though he remembered this one, he did not understand the meaning. Daniel was able to reveal it to him again.
The dream was revealed to the king as a warning for his pride but instead of yielding to the advice of Daniel as stated in Daniel 4:27; he continued his old ways until the dream was fulfilled in his life as he became an animal and ate grass for seven years before he was restored back to humanity and his position as the king.
Several years ago, the Lord revealed a vision of a business to me. I saw my company buying shares of another company and the price of the shares of the company we bought rose to about twenty times of its price. When I woke up, I noted it down and then began to pursue the business and it eventually happened as revealed to me in my dream.
The vision could be revealed to you in a dream like my case or it could be an idea that came to you based on some events or brainstorming session, about what you will do, or it could be about others. It is important that you write down such a vision when you get it so that you do not forget the key issues and like the Bible says, it may help guide others who may need to work with you to achieve the vision. Remember Habakkuk 2:2 KJV which states “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
You should never be in a hurry for the fulfillment of the vision. That is one of the reasons for writing it down and thereafter you plan towards achieving the vision and commence implementation of your plan. There may be delays and hindrances that may cause you sometimes to doubt if you truly received the vision. Nonetheless, remember Habakkuk 2:3 KJV says “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
What vision has been given to you? It could be for yourself, a company , a community, or even a nation. You need to write it down and begin to work on implementation as you seek God’s face on its implementation. Remember, if he gives you a vision, he will show you how to accomplish it. Obstacles on the way should not put you off, rather should push you more to it as long as you are sure of the vision.
But if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, such a vision may be contaminated and therefore becomes unfulfilled! You need to repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour so that you can fulfill your God given vision.
Prayer point:
Father, please give me the grace to fulfill my vision timely in Jesus name.
