Topic: Write The Vision
Bible Reading: Habakkuk 1-3; Revelation 14
Memory Verse: “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV).
Everyone is created to impact the earth positively but the choice to achieve this depends on each individual. You have unique talents that when properly harnessed will add significant value to others. But like the parable of the talents, some people bury their talents instead of putting them to use (Matthew 25:14-30). For some, they just decide not to use their gifts while others are afraid to use them because they never thought they could make anything significant out of it. And a few others venture to use it but when they are bullied on how poor their use of the talent is, they go into their shells never to come out again!
However, some go a long way to develop their talents and then impact the world positively. One of the major steps to take in developing your potentials is by praying to God to ask for your purpose on earth. Whatever is ministered to you whether by a still small voice, a loud voice, a dream, a vision or by the word of God you read, by prophecy or through ministration of a man of God should be noted and written down. Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV) says, “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Once you write it down, it remains in your subconscious mind such that if you forget any part of it, you just go back to check your note. Thereafter, you begin to seek for ways of implementing it. This may involve seeking for additional knowledge, getting capital from people, working for others, saving some of your earnings for a period of time amongst others. Then you begin to implement it.
Several years ago, I decided to leave banking as an employee and went to pray on what I should do. By the time I got my response, I wrote them down and kept referring to that write up to guide me on the way forward. That write up assisted me greatly when I faced some challenges. No wonder the bible tells us to write down our vision.
You should also write down dreams or visions revealed to you as they may be guiding posts of a future event currently unknown to you. Over time when you go over them, you may discover that God had given you clear instructions on some issues earlier that you had forgotten. Man’s memory is limited and so writing such issues or revelations down would remind you of them in future.
Action Plan: What is God’s vision for your studies, career, family or ministry. Please ask God and write them down and constantly refer to it for guidance.
