Topic: SPEAK THE WORD AS YOU ARE COMMANDED TO
Bible Reading: Exodus 9,10,11; Matthew 15:21-39
“Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharoah, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me” Exodus 9:1 (KJV)
The word of God on its own is powerful (Hebrews 4:12). The account of creation shows us how powerful it is; It brought everything in the world today into being. The word, therefore, is the only thing that can maintain and sustain everything in the world.
The word of God comes to set things right. Just like Jesus pointed out the areas where the Pharisees were not getting it right (Matthew 15:3-9), Moses was sent by God to the then most powerful nation on earth, Egypt, and its ruler, Pharoah, to correct the imbalance going on in that nation. God’s people were being held as slaves in the land.
But for the word to be effective you must say it as commanded by God. All God told Moses to tell Pharoah was, “Let my people go.” Moses did as commanded and God honoured those words rejected by Pharoah with plagues upon the Egyptians. God came down heavily on Pharoah for not listening to His Word.
Jesus disciples were arrested, beaten and threatened to stop spreading or speaking the word of God. They refused and said, “… we ought to obey God rather than men” Acts 5:29 (KJV). The result of their continued obedience to speaking God’s world was the unusual increase or growth in the number of disciples.
God is still speaking through His Word, the bible. He needs a man to convey His Word to the world for desired outcomes. Speak as you are led by the Holy Ghost as you will be advancing God’s plan and purpose for the earth.
Prayer: Father, grace to hear and speak Your Word as commanded in Jesus name.
