BIBLE READING: 1 CHRONICLES 11-13, JOHN 9: 1-23
Memory verse: “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment”. 1 Chronicles 12:32 (KJV)
The world is in a dark place and needs light. Men are in need of saviours. Men who will shine the light and bring hope to a dark world. There is so much confusion everywhere; crisis and chaos and the people desire to see a beacon of hope. “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God”. Romans 8:19 (KJV). If you check around, anyone that has a level of influence on the world today has something that gives them the edge. This means that for you to influence your world or be outstanding, you must have something to offer.
The world will never follow mediocres but men who have what it takes to be in control and it is knowledge that gives you control. “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits” Daniel 11:32 (KJV). The children of Issachar were singled out for their understanding of the times. They knew what was meant to be done per time and as such it gave them command over their brethren. It is very unfortunate that a lot of Christians are neither spiritually sensitive at this time nor knowledgeable enough and they stand the risk of falling prey to enemy’s attacks.
If you must be and remain in command, you must know your God experientially. Not just knowing His acts but His ways. “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death”; Philippians 3:10 (KJV). Fellowshipping with Him must be a lifestyle. You must also understand the urgency of the times we are in and equip yourself through the word of God. Jesus understood this and He was focused on His assignment. “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work” John 9:4 (KJV).
Prayer: Lord, help me to know you more, to know what to do per time so I can take charge.
