TOPIC: GOD IS WITH YOU
Bible Reading: Job 1-3; Acts 7:1-19
“And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian” Genesis 39:2 (KJV)
When we say that God is with us, we are saying that we have God’s favour. The favour of God is what turns things around in our lives. The favour of God is the assurance of victory in any challenge of life. Because God was with Joseph, the Bible says he was successful.
Joseph’s story is a good example of what happens to a man whom God is with. It truly doesn’t matter the circumstances you are born into, the family tussles and rivalries you have had to face or are facing and it doesn’t matter how people treat you; if God is with you, then you are successful.
You can be who God wants you to be. His favour can lift anybody from the lowest level of life to the highest position in the land. Joseph was sold as a slave by his brothers, not for any wrong he had done. His only crime was that his father loved him. You can imagine the hurt, pain, and feeling of betrayal that he experienced. This was enough to keep him depressed all the days of his life. Yet in a strange land, Joseph prospered and was very successful because God was with him.
The Bible says, “The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a SUCCESSFUL MAN; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian” Genesis 39:2 (NKJV).
Never define success by what you have or where you are. Though sold as a slave, the Bible says Joseph was a successful man because God was with him. As a slave, Joseph probably looked a little like a successful person but the Bible says he was successful. Regardless of where you are or your position in life, because God is with you I want you to believe that you are successful. Genesis 39:3 (KJV) says, “And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.” Even Joseph’s master looked at him and noticed that there was progress in everything that Joseph handled. He could tell that God was with Joseph because of what he saw.
As you begin to believe and see yourself as a successful person, it will show in everything that you put your hands upon to do. If you are working in an office or you are serving in an organization, your bosses will see that God is with you.
Joseph had a big dream. He saw a throne. He knew he was called to rule and lead but he was never a failure while he was led. You need to know that the pathway to becoming a great leader is by being a content, happy, successful follower.
DECLARE: God is with me. He will never leave me so I boldly say that all things are working together for my good.
