Bible Reading: Job 42; 1 Pet 3:1-7
“Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; – 1 Peter 3:1 KJV
A pastor gave a testimony on how his wife won him to Christ. He said, when they got married, his wife was born again but he was still in the world and would ask his wife to get him alcoholic drinks sometimes. On some Sunday mornings, when the wife was dressed for church, he would call her for love making. All the submission of the wife to him at such odd times made him to visit the church and in the process got arrested by the Holy Spirit.
That is what Jesus expects women to do to win their husbands to Christ. With submission in love, so many would be won to Christ. The same way, a husband can win his wife to Christ by showing her love, giving her attention and exhibiting the behaviour of Christ in and out of home. The problem with a number of Christians is that they want things to happen overnight but we forget that every habit takes time to form and will also take time to do away with. We need patience more than ever to deal with our family members, our friends and associates.
If Jesus was crucified on the cross by the very people he came to save and he maintained that the people should be forgiven, then we as his followers must be ready to use our disposition to win souls, particularly members of our own family to the kingdom of God.
If we do these things, we would be able to win more people around us to Christ, and more importantly, keep them in the faith.
Prayer: Father, let my life be full of you such that it would attract people to your kingdom in Jesus name.
