“Rejoice for evermore”– 1 Thessalonians 5:16(KJV)

The place of joy in our Christian living cannot be overemphasized. Joy is our major weapon against the power of depression. Our scriptural verse for today says rejoice for evermore i.e. irrespective of situations and circumstances continue to rejoice. This is further reiterated in Philippians 4:4(KJV) “Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I, say rejoice”.  The more of joy we have, the more victories we enjoy over Satan. Joy is the only medicine for depression. A joyful heart is a winning heart. Joy grants us access to the supernatural in our redemption package. Joy is of the Holy Ghost and it is the attribute of the redeemed. “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” – Romans 14:17(KJV). Joy is the language of the kingdom.

Joy grants us access to divine revelation, “Therefore with Joy ye shall draw water out of the wells of salvation” – Isaiah 12:3(KJV).  Revelation produces faith, and faith guarantees our victory (1 John 5:4). Joy is the antidote for depression and it is the instrument with which we can tap into our redemptive right. Joy ventilates our soul and opens us up to divine presence. Joy produces positive and progressive ideas.

When we serve the Lord with joyfulness and gladness of heart, we will block Satan’s access to our mind. Satan is out to move us against God. Keep him off with joy – singing and making melody in our heart unto the Lord (Ephesians 5:19). Explore all avenues to be joyful and happy. Live in constant gratitude and thankfulness to God. We should keep our heart in a ceaseless flow of thanksgiving and appreciation unto God.

The level of joy we operate determines the level of exploits we enjoy. Joy makes us and God a formidable, invincible team, and establishes our triumph and dominion over Satan in the conflicts of life. Heaviness is a spirit that can only be displaced by the oil of joy and the garment of praise (Isaiah 61:3). Every time joy is absent in our life we know that the thief is at work. The devil comes to steal our joy, so he can make a victim of us. Engaging in a ceaseless flow of joy will cause our spiritual life to blossom.

Serving God is unprofitable when it is not done joyfully and gladly. A joyful track in our walk with God is the anointing for great exploits. It takes joy to operate in the excellent spirit that makes for distinction. It takes joy to create a future.

Dear reader, it pays to live a joyful life. You belong to the order of joy by creation (Galatians 5:22). See what the Psalmist says: “Blessed is the people that  know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of your countenance”–Psalm 89:15(KJV),

Prayer: May joy never depart from our homes. May the act of gratitude and thanksgiving to God become our lifestyle, In Jesus name. Amen.
