Memory verse: “Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.” Exodus 10.26 (KJV)
Before God sent Moses to Pharaoh He told him the reason why He is sending him forth, “And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.” Exodus 3:12 (KJV). Service to God was the reason why God came down hard on Egypt, not just because of the oppression but to show an example to all what God desires from man.
Satan is represented by Pharaoh of Egypt. Satan will do anything to stop man from worshipping God. At a point, Pharaoh started negotiating with Moses on who will go to worship God. First he tries to divide the family by excluding the women and children from the worship of God. He said to Moses, “Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presenc” Exodus 10:11 (KJV). He is still using this same tactics today to divide families in the worship of God.
When he failed in that area, he went further, “And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you” Exodus 10:24 (KJV). But he was in for a shock, “And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God. [26] Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither” Exodus 10:25-26 (KJV).
Worship to God must be done with all you have beginning with you, your wife, children and business. Many make the mistake of leaving their children out of service. God said about Abraham, “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him” Genesis 18:19 (KJV). Your children are part of God’s gift to you.
Your businesses too must be included in your service to God. From the business you get substance to offer to God beccause we do not come before God empty when worshipping. Never you separate your business from your worship of God either else you exclude His blessings on that business.
Action Point: Take a good look at all you do in your service to God and see if you are leaving out anything especially that which He blessed you with.
