TOPIC: PLANT THE WORD AND REST
Bible Reading: Numbers 14-15; Mark 6:1-32
“And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.” – Mark 4:26-27 (KJV)
Jesus taught about the operation of the kingdom in this text with the illustration of a sower that just do his part of sowing seed into the ground which grows without human effort. This teaches that the kingdom of God operates by planting the seed of God’s Word in your heart and going to rest because God works when you are at rest. If there is any labor, it is to come to a place of rest which is faith. Rest is when anxiety and worry is taken away. All that is required of you is to put God’s Word – God’s promises – in your heart (i.e. your spirit).
You scatter seeds by hearing and meditating on the Word of God. Get to know what Jesus has done for you. In His finished works, He brought you into health, wealth, wholeness, righteousness, peace and deliverance. “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:” Colossians 1:12 (KJV).
Put that Word in your consciousness and go to sleep. It is not your business how that seed will grow and sprout. That’s entirely God’s business. When you put God’s Word in your heart and go to rest without worrying and toiling and calculating in your mind, God, through the implanted Word in your heart, will begin to cause things to happen to you. “Do not be anxious about anything…” Philippians 4:6 (KJV).
There are blessings when you rest or sleep in God’s Word. The blesing of deliverance or manifestation could come in the form of angelic manifestations like in the case of Peter who was to be killed the following day but was comfortably asleep in a prison and an angel came to set him free supernaturally (Acts 12:1-11).
Quit worrying about that situation today and put God’s Word in your heart and declare it with your mouth. Rest in God’s love because as long as the Word is in your heart, it is working to bring to pass what it says it would do.
Declaration: Father, I boldly declare that I rest in Your Word! I reject any anxiety and I refuse to worry about anything. I put my confidence in You.
