Bible Reading: Psalm 124-127; 1 Corinthians 7:1-24.
Memory Verse: “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” Psalm 127:1 (KJV).
The various manufacturers of cars created them for transportation. The mode of operation is detailed in the manual of operation of each car. If you have any issue with the car, you need to consult the manual to get direction on what to do to address the issue. If there are fundamental issues with any car, it is referred to the manufacturer. Similarly, God created us and every other thing for His pleasure as stated in Revelation 4:11 (KJV), “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” It is therefore important that we seek the face of God to know what can give Him pleasure before we embark on it. Thus, we should seek His direction before we embark on any thing if we want to achieve the desired success. The Bible says in Proverbs 3:6 (KJV), “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” So getting the right answers on time depends on getting the direction from God. And He has told us how we can move forward. He says in Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV), “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” So, it is important to seek the face of God on any step you are about to take and He will guide you.
Some people start the journey and then ask God on how to continue! When you did not ask Him before embarking on the journey in the first instance, how do you know you should have started the journey in the first instance? God is not a rubber stamp that will always agree with your step. He will guide you and tell you whether you should start in the first instance and will guide you all the way. That’s why it’s important you remember His word in Psalm 127:1 (KJV), “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”
How can you start a family without asking the author of families whether the person you are about to marry is God’s choice? When you have the nod of God, He will direct you all the way. So when there are challenges, He will tell you how to navigate because He has checked all parameters before giving you go ahead. You can then compare that to where you chose independent of Him and you now return to Him for guidance when you are faced with challenges. Knowing that God hates divorce, what do you think you will get in that home? A lot of endurance instead of Joy! This has led many people into frustration!
Fortunately, God can do all things. He can still make ways where there are none but it may cause a lot of difficulties and perseverance. So it is better to seek God’s face before embarking on anything not just marriage! That’s why he says in Matthew 6:33 (KJV), “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” But for you to do this, you must accept Him as your Lord and Saviour and be obedient to His word. In case you are not born again, you need to repent of your sins and surrender your life accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour.
